Mr. Ward is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California; has a M.S.C.E. in Construction Management from the University of California, Berkeley; M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, RI; and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Youngstown State University in Ohio. He is an active member of the Associated General Contractors of California, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Board of Advisors for the Salvation Army.
Mr. Ward came to Sausal Corporation with 20 years of prior experience in engineering, contract management, project management and construction management having served in senior positions in the Civil Engineer Corps of the United States Navy. In the Civil Engineer Corps he managed major engineering and maintenance organizations that performed facility design, construction, and maintenance where he retired as a Commander.
Prior to joining Sausal Corporation in 1990, Mr. Gillis had over 15 years of diversified experience in the construction industry including over 8 years as Director of Construction and Engineering for the nationwide building program at Mervyn's/Dayton Hudson Corporation. He also was a Project Manager for Bradbury and Stamm Construction in Albuquerque.
Mr. Gillis has directly managed a variety of projects, including: retail stores, corporate offices, parking structures, industrial and processing facilities, schools, museums, and fire stations. His experience includes design-build, lease-leaseback, and negotiated GMPs, as well has hard dollar bidding.
Carpenter’s apprentice since 1998. Josh received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, and later his Masters of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. Josh is also a registered EIT in the State of California.
Mrs. Ward holds a Bachelor's degree from California Poly Technical Institute, San Luis Obispo, in Environmental Design. In 2004 she became a LEED Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) through the USGBC. Mrs. Ward joined Sausal in 1987 after serving 10 years with the Unistrut Corporation of No. California first as Project Manager and then as East Bay Sales Engineer. Mrs. Ward also spent two years with the Ventura County as a Property Manager, handling lease negotiations for the Channel Islands Harbor and County Airport.
Her other responsibilities include: Profit Sharing Plan Administration; contract management functions.
